Balancing Act

The health & safety manager for a structural steel company sent us this photo from the south of England. "Everybody on site denied that they had put or used the ladder in this position, so we had to blame Mr. Nobody again," he wrote.

Yet someone had climbed that ladder, because if you look carefully, you can see that a bolt has been installed.

So we have to assume that Mr. Nobody was the daredevil who had carefully tied off the ladder at the top (now there is a major precaution).

"Do you think they should have gotten brownie points for that at least?" our correspondent sarcastically asked.

In a word, no. They should get a booby-prize for most hazards in one spot, or most amateurish method of working on steel, or worst application of a ladder.
